It was good to talk with you today, Eileen. I am glad to hear Zack is getting better. My friend, Scott, went through a similar situation and has graduated from Duke and is working on his PhD in economics at Vanderbilt. So, I know this can have a happy ending. We will keep your family in our prayers. -- Rob Kremer
"Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perserverance; perserverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. Romans 5:3-5
Dear Christian Academy families,
This past July, a tragic car accident occured that seriously injured Zack Hornback, a junior in high school who has been at CAL since he was learning his ABC's. Zack is a fun-loving young man, a star baseball player, an honor student, and a friend to all. He sustained a massive brain injury as a result of the accident and was rushed to the hospital, where he fought for his life in intensive care. Now, thanks to the Almighty Hand of our God and the prayers of Zack's friends and family, and even people he has never met, he has been moved to a rehabilitation center where he is learning to walk and talk again.
God is so good and is revealing Himself in so many ways, and many people have been touched by Zack's accident and his family's testimony.
Christian Academy humbly asks you to join us in support of Zack and the Hornback family. The high school will be selling T-shirts with the inscription "CAL loves ZH". The shirt costs $15.00, and the net proceeds will go to help the Hornbacks as Zack recovers.
If you would like to participate in this fundraiser, please complete the form below and return it, with payment, to your child's teacher, no later than September 21st. The shirts will be delivered at school, and all students are to wear their "Zack" shirts on October 13th to remind everyone, as Zack's spiritual family, that the power of prayer is the greatest medicine. God is a miracle worker!
In Christ,

Hey Eilene, You don't know me but my daughter graduated from CAL in 2004 & my youngest is a 2nd grader there. It happens that my oldest son, who graduated from Kentucky Country Day School was a classmatre of Scott's (only we call him Scotty) My son, Trapper is a Vanderbilt graduate who is currently working in Nashville and is sharing a condo with Scotty. Scotty is truely an amazing guy and along with all of his other accomplishments has been an encourager to my son. My son has had 8 knee surgeries and there was a time a couple of years ago when Scotty happened to be visiting my son when he(Trapper) was in a lot of pain from his knees and facing the reality that he will never be able to do some of the things he has always hoped to do again like play basketball. At that particular low moment for my son, Scotty was such an encourager and helped my son re-focus on the things he IS able to do rather than the things he is not able to do. Someday your Zach will be the same kind of encourager to others who are hurting too. I'm praying for Zach....Harriet Michael
